
OUR TIME-TABLE

MORNING: We try to maintain a particular structure and to give the children freedom and Independence within It.
09.00-09.20
The children meet In three groups. We sit down welcome each other, take the register and talk about the activities on offer. The children choose where they would like to start off using HI-Scope activity cards.
09.20-10.45
FREE PLAY: The children can move freely from one activity to the next and can choose what they need from the shelves. They may Join a craft activity If they want to; some enjoy doing their own cutting, sticking and gluing. Others may like to play with small world toys, construction or looking at books.
10.45-11.00
TIDY UP TIME: A popular moment when the children listen for the bell and then together help clear up the communal mess!
11.00-11.20
SNACK/SMALL GROUP TIME: Back In their separate groups the children have their milk and snack. We chat generally and ask Individual children to recall their morning activities with the aid of the HI-Scope cards. This Is a social time when we chat together.
11.20-11.45
GROUP TIME: This is when we get together in a big circle and try a variety of activities from singing, role play, music, acting, stories etc.
11.45-12.15
OUTSIDE TIME: The children can now let off steam. We can use the bikes etc, adventure playground, playing field, hoops, balls, ropes. We also have more structured sessions playing ring games, chalking or maybe a walk around the locality.
12.15-12.30
HOME: Parents wait outside and the children are called one by one so that staff have complete control on who is leaving

Role play :- e.g. house, workshop, café, post office, dressing up wardrobe , garden centre.Outside Play- using large climbing apparatus, pedalled vehicles, rockers, ball skills, games, imaginative play ideas. In addition we use the large apparatus in the hall and also have movement sessions to music.
Sand/Water Play: - supporting items are regularly changed to stimulate creative, mathematical, scientific or investigative activities.
Malleable Materials – play dough, clay, salt dough. Supporting items are changed regularly to stimulate and support creativity, literacy, mathematics and exploration.
Activity Table - providing writing, mathematical and creative stimulus with equipment changed regularly to stimulate learning, imagination and practise of skills.
Listening Centre: - a wide variety of tapes to support listening skills, nursery, number and action rhymes, music and songs.
Computer; - we have a range of programs and CD ROMs which support mouse control, literacy and maths activities for pre-school children, giving them confidence in developing IT skills. Construction - we offer a good range of constructional materials, providing opportunities for fine-motor skills, making and designing, co-operative play, mathematics and creativity.
Art Activities – painting, cutting, glueing are planned as part of children’s free choice activities. We also plan activities to support other learning e.g making models , masks or pictures.
