Our staff

We have 9 members of staff at the group, all part time and all totally committed to Glenfall Pre-school. Between us 22 of our children have been through the group!

Rachel:

Rachel’s links with pre-school began 9 years ago when her youngest son started there. Having been a regular rota mum when a job came up when her son started school it was too good an opportunity to miss. 7 years later when Julie left Rachel took over the running of the group and to coin a phrase of Carolyn’s is ‘learning, learning all the time’! She has an English Lit degree and NVQ level 3 in Pre-school Practice and in Supporting Teaching and Learning in the Classroom,  and also runs French clubs for foundation stage and key stage 1 children.

Mike

Mike is the  deputy play leader and one of our biggest kids. He’s been working at the group for many years and those years of experience make him invaluable. Mike is our IT specialist . He is a man of many talents and has an NVQ level 3 in pre-school practice.

Hazel

A true oasis of calm. Hazel has had lots of child care experience over the years, including more recently becoming a Grandma ( a very  young and lovely one!)  She has been working at the group for many years and is our Health and Safety rep. She is also qualified to  level 3.

Alison

Alison is our resident artist. She started her career in secondary art teaching but for 3 years now she has used her talents to benefit our children. Please see the photo section for some examples of the art the children have made  with her.

Carolyn

Carolyn is in her second year with us at pre-school and is probably best qualified in that she is mum to 4 lovely children.  She is great fun to work with and great fun with the children.

Claire and Jane

Claire and Jane come in to play 3 mornings a week for an hour, also covering for staff when they are on courses. They have been welcomed wirth open arms and big smiles by staff and children alike and are highly valued for their ability to get stuck in and play. They are continuing their training this year.

Jody and Laura…
Jody joins us on a Thursday and Friday and brings her many teaching talents with her, whilst Laura is joining us just on a Friday at the moment with bucket loads of enthusiasm!
